A perfumery-grade natural material with smoky leather, charred woods and dry phenolic depth, selected for professional fragrance creation. Olfactive character: Birch Tar Oil Rectified is perhaps the sharpest of the three main tar oils (including Cade and Pine oil). It has a powerful smoky tar/burnt wood aroma, as if a fire is lightly smoldering. It is dense and gummy. When smelled in its raw form, it is sharp and can remind one of petrol. It has a similar profile to Cade Oil. Other descriptors: phenolic, burnt, leathery, medicinal, aromatic, slightly spicy, burnt wood, coal tar, smoked meat or fish, and Wrights Coal Tar Soap Perfumery role and uses: Fantasy Blends; Leather, Russian Leather, Cuir Woody Relative odor impact: 1200. Odor life on a smelling strip: 400 hours. Supplier typical usage in perfume compounds: 0.44% to 22%, average 3.3%.
